Hand-loomed Khadi wool
Weavers in rural Rajasthan spin raw Khadi wool on century-old charkhā wheels, producing cloth so dense it doesn't need lining. In our Vienna atelier, that fabric becomes this clean, collarless coat — a cocoon silhouette that drapes to the knee with zero internal structure, relying entirely on the weight and character of the handwoven textile. You can feel five generations in every thread.
Indigo-dyed Sashiko cotton
The cotton for this trouser is hand-dipped in natural indigo vats in Kyoto — seventeen times — until it reaches a depth of blue-black that no chemical dye can replicate. The surface carries a subtle Sashiko running-stitch pattern, originally a mending technique, now an intentional texture. European tailoring gives it a relaxed wide-leg that tapers gently, finished with concealed French seams and mother-of-pearl buttons from Lombardy.
Handwoven Banarasi silk organza
Banarasi weavers in Varanasi work on jacquard pit-looms that pre-date the industrial revolution, producing silk organza so fine they call it hawa — wind. A single length takes up to a month. We bias-cut this ethereal cloth into a floor-grazing dress with no zippers, no buttons — only a single wrap tie at the waist. It moves like water and catches light the way old European oil paintings render fabric.
Mud-silk (Gambiered Canton gauze)
Mud-silk is among the rarest textiles still produced by hand. Artisans in northern Thailand coat raw silk with yam juice and river mud, then sun-dry it over two weeks until the fabric turns a deep, warm umber with a natural sheen no factory can replicate. Our Milan pattern team transforms it into a cropped, open-front layering jacket with raw-edge hems — honouring the material's organic finish while meeting the proportions of a modern European wardrobe.
